General Guidelines

Please submit abstracts for contributed talks and poster presentations by emailing: amcosconference@upf.edu with subject “AMCOS abstract submission”.
In case of submission for poster only, please change the subject to: “AMCOS poster abstract submission”.

We welcome abstract submissions regardless of the author’s gender, religion or ethnicity. We especially encourage abstract submissions from female researchers, and from other groups that tend to be under-represented in scientific meetings.

Abstract preparation and format

Please submit a title of no more than 20 words, and keep your abstract to no more than 300 words. Together with this, please also submit affiliations of all authors, sticking to the following format, which will be used in the book of abstracts:

Adams, A.(1), Smith, S.(1,2), & Jones, J.(2),
1 Center for Brain Science, Harvard University, USA
2 Center for Brain and Cognition, UPF Barcelona, Spain.
Corresponding author: a.adams@harvard.edu.

Evaluation criteria

Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • Significance
  • Relevance to AMCOS
  • Clarity

Approximately 12 submissions will be chosen for contributed talks, while the others will be chosen for poster presentations.

Poster format instructions

If your contribution has been accepted for poster, please prepare a poster size A0 (119 × 84 cm (height x width) // Vertical). The posters do not have to be sent in advance; please take yours along on the first day of the conference, where they can be put up before the welcome address.

Submission information

Please note that submission confirmation emails might be delayed during peak submission hours, i.e. close to submission deadline. Your submissions, however, will be fine.

Authors who are selected for posters and talks will be notified by the end of January 2018.

The presenting author for each accepted contributed talk must register for the meeting by February 8th 2018. Note that registration and abstract submission are not the same process.

A preliminary conference schedule will be published online (in February 2018). Participants who need letters of invitation to obtain an entry visa may contact the organizers in advance of this date (amcosconference@upf.edu).
